Scotti, Diego and I got the chance to spend all day together yesterday. Snow cancelled work, so we laid in bed, ate french toast, cuddled and played!
I’m stoked to say I even got some work done. Including all the laundry and a 1000 calorie Fitness Blender workout. which totally cancelled out the french toast. We wrapper up the night with nail polish, more cuddles and the Mindy Project on Hulu.
I’ve been bouncing back and forth between what I need to focus on more in terms of planning on the move. The battle is between where would I like to go vs what would I like to do.
And I’ve decided to focus more on where I want to be. Because in all honesty, I have no clue what I want to do job wise. I am totally willing to take suggestions though.
Nashville, New Orleans and Savannah are the three cities I find myself thinking about the most. There’s just something I love about the South. Something that draws me there; be it through trip planning, books, or Netflix choices.
Here’s some of my current criteria in deciding where to go.
Yes, I’m supposed to be all independent and whatnot because Beyonce and Taylor Swift told me to be. But I know that what I want is a human to love, and that that human isn’t going to be a baby. So boys are definitely on the list.
Scotti and Diego have to be able to have a life comparable to the one we have in Eldora. That means the city has to be one with lots of parks and places to walk. And squirrels to bark attack.
3. Things to do.
Museums, exercise classes, farmers markets, spots for picnics. For me, that boy, and potential guests. Also, I’ll need to start learning how people make friends.
I LIKE BEING ABLE TO WALK TO AN ACTUAL GROCERY STORE. This is strangely important to me and I might check Walk Scores when I dive into the pit that is Craiglist:For Rent.
One day I’m going to go out on a walk with Scotti and Diego. We’re going to run and jump and dance. And one of us will be singing along very loudly to her Taylor Swift/Beyonce/Disney Princess playlist, and a very attractive man is going to happen upon us.
And he will fall in love.
And Diego won’t try to bite him. Because he will realize, this man is definitely not a threat. Although those squirrels definitely are.
Scotti and Diego have just been on point with their love this week. Which is excellent because it’s been a less than stellar week and I need a reason to smile. Although I think they’re just trying to figure out how to cancel out all the naughtiness. Diego has mastered how to not only break everyone free from the basement when I’m gone, but how to open the refrigerator door.
Seriously, I must find a dog training class in the area ASAP. Or work much harder towards meeting someone who would make it possible for me to be a stay at home dog mom.
I spent NYE having a relaxing night in with Scotti, Diego and Pepper. I was a little freaked at first for not having New Years plans, but I realized I’d rather kick 2015 off spending my evening how I’ll spend a lot of upcoming evenings. Why mess with success.
Two bottles of Polka Dot Reisling and a brie and granny smith apple quesadilla. Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion. Writing out a to-do list and monthly goals to get me through spring. Perfect.
And I did it all in sweats.
This morning was spent with a pile of magazines, cinnamon rolls and mimosas. I’m definitely not ready to go back to a normal schedule on Monday. I know you’re supposed to start off January 1st being super productive, but I just couldn’t do it. And when you have a chance to eat breakfast in bed with your favorite creatures, you take it.
Scotti and Diego have proven that the decision to move the bed right under the window was a genius one. If we’re in the room and they’re not wrestling or napping, they’re just looking out the window.
I plan on getting around to sharing my goal for 2015, trust me, it’s a big one. For now though, I’m going to stay cuddled up with my best friends.
What better way to close out 2014 than forcing you all (don’t you dare hit that red X) to look at some of my favorite Instagram posts from the year.
Scotti and Diego continue to be the most important creatures in my life. Luna refuses to take selfies and Georgina moved to Kansas City.
So. Many. Selfies. *note to self, wear navy boyfriend blazer more*
Summer continued to be my favorite season. Life shouldn’t happen below 80 degrees.
Trips to Kansas City (not pictured because I felt fat on that trip) and New Orleans reminded me that small town life just isn’t my scene. Although Whole Foods and H&M being within 30 minutes would be very bad for my wallet.
I found myself getting very intoxicated in this pink Old Navy dress this summer. Plus: great excuse to wear a wire free sports bra. Negative: Required highwaisted Spanx.
Christmas is here and I’m having a lovely day to myself. Christmas Eve was spent picking up some last minute gifts and working. Today has been all about being ridiculously lazy and not feeling any guilt about it. Well, I’m trying not to feel any guilt about it.
I’m off to pour myself another mimosa! and maybe take a nap.
